- The Sports Index proprietary indices are composite averages of the individual values of publicly-traded corporations within the sports and active leisure as well as game and related amusement and entertainment sectors
- Sports stock market portfolios include publicly-traded companies which derive a majority of their revenue directly from sports and active leisure, and games, toys, amusement, and digital entertainment. Some select indices track a few companies that hold more diversified assets
- Companies tracked are positioned at or near the top of the specified industry sectors and which have substantial market capitalization and a large presence in said industries, in addition to many foreign and/or OTC and smaller exchange-listed corporations
- Focus includes products, services, advertising, sponsorship, events, branding, media, and ancillary sports, game, amusement and entertainment business sectors
- At present, The Sports Index does not attempt to maximize returns. The foremost intention of tracking socks here is to provide an industry barometer - a benchmark and bellwether index of leading companies
- All indices tracked are non-equal weighted
