Shares of active apparel retailer American Eagle Outfitters (AEO:NYSE) sank late-week. Zacks Equity Research breaks down the metrics and PE ratios and earnings expectations and various reasons for the downturn, while the broader markets generally experienced a slight uptick. That said, AEO is one of Zack's top 5 stocks "projected to double in 2026." One of the reasons for this week's underperformance may have been that the chairman of AEO unloaded $26.8 million in stock, per Investing.com. He still retains a significant percentage of shares but anytime an insider, most notably the chairman, sells shares, it has the potential to rattle the markets, at least in the short-term. In other news, American Eagle signs five-year deal with star player Lamine Yamal of Barcelona FC to be global brand ambassador, reports Fashion United.
